Laminate and Vinyl Tile Flooring Is So Easy to Maintain
As I mentioned a few posts ago, I’m really a laminate and vinyl tile flooring person. I’ve lived in a place with carpeting flooring and it’s just too hard for me to keep pristine, plus I have allergies and carpeting drives them crazy. My last house had gorgeous glossy wood floors, but I hated how I had to spend so much money on special wood cleaner every month, and dust daily, plus my boyfriends’ dog had to wear socks all the time (dogs’ nails can really do a number on wood floors and I didn’t have a grand lying around to get them refinished). I grew up in a very 50s Florida house that had terrazzo floors and I hated it because it was too cold, hard, and inhospitable. But when I found vinyl tile flooring, it was perfect! I love how easy they are to clean and how durable they are. I mean with a Swiffer or any other dust mop, you can keep them looking fantastic. You can even vacuum them, and throw a mop around them occasionally to keep them shiny and gorgeous. You don’t have to wax and polish them like wood, you don’t have to worry about cleaning the grout like ceramic tile, and as far as stains go, that’s more of carpeting floorings’ territory.
